Disillusionment of Islam and the government still grows. Lacking freedom and a strict government have been a major obstacle to the younger generation. Broken promises by the government have led people to look for the truth. This has led many to be open to the gospel. The year over year growth rate of evangelical Christianity is reported at 19.6%.

The most reported case of Christian persecution recently is Saeed Abedini. Saeed Abedini accepted Christ and converted to Christianity in 2000. He met his wife Naghem in 2002. He was a Pastor, Evangelist, and establishing orphanages in several cities in Iran. The Iranian government saw this as a threat to national security. He became a minister in the US in 2008 and acquired dual-citizenship in 2010. On a return visit to Iran in 2012, he was arrested for spreading the gospel. Since September 26, 2012, he has been in prison for his faith in Jesus. Yesterday marked a 2 year anniversary for him being in prison. Over the past few months, he was in and out of the hospital, yet Iran still denies full treatment for injuries in prison and illness.

There are still many muslims have yet to hear about Jesus in Iran or respond to the gospel.

Pray for more laborers to reach the muslims in Iran with the gospel

Pray for Saeed Abedini’s release from prison and future treatments in the hospital. Pray for other Christians that are being persecuted in Iran.

Praise God for the things he is doing in Iran
